Second Grade

In second grade, your child will be reading more difficult stories and will be asked to tell about the story. They will be reading independently, as well as reading along with the teacher. Please work on having your child write about what they read, as well as telling characters, setting, and plot. This year is very exciting because your child's class is upstairs!

Supply List - Click for the school supply list.  Remember, you may need to replenish these supplies during the year because they are all used. Ask the teacher if they need more.

Here are some great websites that your child will visit during the year, as well as some sites that may be helpful with the skills that we are learning at school.

AAA Math - This site will work on math skills (watch the work to see which skills to work on at )

PBS Kids- A great site with educational and fun activities from your child's favorite shows

Eduplace- This website has activities to do, that go along with the stories that they are reading in school.

A+ Math- This site offers math flash cards, basic facts practice, and work help. This is very helpful when working on basic addition and subtraction facts.
