We look forward to a safe and healthy year for your child. In order to help us make the school year safe and healthy, please make note of the following:

If your child is given medications, including over the counter medications, to be given at school at any time during the school year, a signed physician order form and a labeled pharmacy bottle with a current date must be brought to school by a parent or an adult.

If there is any change in medication at or school, please notify the nurse. If the change involves a school medication, we will need a new physician's order form.

With regard to illness, please refer to the guidelines below this letter. Remember to send a note when your child returns to school after an absence. If your child will be going for a medical, dental, vision, or hearing evaluation of any kind, please have the report forwarded to the school for his or her school health record.

As always, you are welcome to call to discuss your child's health concerns with the nurse. In fact, we appreciate hearing from you.

Here's to a great school year!

Sincerely,

Debbie Giangrandi

We want all students to have good attendance, but when they are sick, they should stay home for the well-being of themselves and others. Please keep your child home when, during the night or in the morning, they have the following: fever, diarrhea, vomiting, symptoms such as headache, drowsiness, runny nose, that combined cause physical discomfort, and may indicate a contagious condition.

Following a fever, the child should have a normal temperature reading (98.6 degrees) for at least 24 hours before coming back to school. Remember when your child returns to school, they should have a note from the doctor or their parent/guardian.
