When your child starts Kindergarten in the fall, their birthday should be between October 1, 2000 and September 1, 2001.Your child needs the following immunizations before starting Kindergarten (some are different than Pre-K): DTP (4 doses), Polio (3 doses), MMR (2 doses), Hepatitis (3 doses), Varicella (Chicken Pox), and a blood test for lead after the age of two and you need a doctors note that has the date that the test was done.Supply List - Click for the school supply list. Remember some supplies run out during the year, so you may need to replenish them. We also share many of the supplies in the class, so only label the extra clothes and art smock. Here are some great websites that your child will visit during the year, as well as some sites that may be helpful with the skills that we are learning at school.AAA Math - This site will work on math skills (watch the work to see which skills to work on at home) PBS Kids- A great site with educational and fun activities from your child's favorite shows Sesame Street- This is a great website that works on rhyming, beginning letter sounds, letter recognition, and many other beginning reading skills. A+ Math- This site helps with work, creates flashcards, and helps with basic facts. Here are links to the Guide for Parents and Helpful Hints for Parents for Kindergarten. |
